Death the SkyWing/NightWing Hybrid

Description

If I touch a burning torch, I can feel no pain
If you claw me with a talon it's still the same...
And I know her heart is beating
And I know that I am dead
Yet the pain here that I feel...
Try and tell me it's not real...
For it seems that I still have a tear to shed...

If I touch a burning torch I can feel no pain
In the ice or in the sun it's all the same...
Yet I feel my heart is aching
Though it doesn't beat it's breaking
And the pain here that I feel...
Try and tell me it's not real...
I know that I am dead
Yet it seems that I still have some tears to shed...

Death is the offspring of a NightWing named Darkness and a royal SkyWing named Firelight. They two were overjoyed when Firelight was with egg, despite the fact that it was becoming harder to keep their secret safe. The two lovers stayed hidden from their tribes to raise their egg, and within a year, Death hatched into the world. But, alas, after a week of his hatching, Firelight was brutally killed by her sister to her reign to the SkyWing throne. Growing dark from his mate's death, Darkness whisped away with his son to the NightWing kingdom, where Death was given his name.

Death was raised to never acknowledge the fact that he was part SkyWing, but in fact, deeply despise them. As he grew up, he was trained to become an assasin for the NightWings. Most of his tribe feared him whenever he set his blazing dark red eyes on them, knowing that they could possibly be the ones killed if they did something wrong.

When Death turned ten, the age where he was finally free to go to the mainland, Darkness took him to the last-living animus NightWing. With a flick of the animus's wings, Death was given an internal gift that could help him finally destroy all of the SkyWings once and for all. He was never told what the gift was, but during a fued with a group of MudWings, he was damaged beyond repair, a death blow to the head.

When Death awoke the next day, he found he was perfectly fine, no wound visable from the fight. He then deemed that he was given the gift of being immortal. But then he realized that his heart wasn't beating, and he felt oddly cold on the inside.

The gift wasn't a gift at all, but a curse. To stay living, he couldn't be living.

He was dead, yet walking among the living.

With utter fear, Death hid himself on the mainland for years, perching himself inside the highest mountain of Pyrrhia. He watched as the dragons around him grew and grew until they eventually died, while he never aged a day. As the days went by, the months, the years, Death became a lifeless husk, sulking in the shadows. It wasn't until a dragon crash-landed in his cave did he realize that his whole life was about to change.

That faithful night, Death met Sky, a SkyWing/Icewing hybrid who was practically scared of her own shadow. Her pale orange scales were nearly too bright for Death, being that he hadn't seen the sunlight in years. Her scales burned like a freezing fire and the spikes along her spine and tail always twitched nervously. But her voice was as soft as an angel's touch, despite the fact that she was of two of the most anger-proned tribes. And her eyes, a calm blue, like waves softly lapping against the shore, were the most beautify=ul eyes Death had ever seen.

Being that they were both misfits, Sky decided to stay with Death in the mountain, where they grew a tight bond. Sky even dragged Death out of the mountain one night and showed him the night skies that he had missed and the sunrise. The two eventually traveled all across Pyrrhia, discovering new lands and creatures. Sky even made friends with a Scavenger, who joined the two on their journies.

Although Death had a new hope, he couldn't stand watching his love age before his eyes without telling her the truth. After giving the dragoness the frightful truth, Death flew off without another word, leaving Sky behind. It wasn't until, thirty years later, did Sky return to the mountain Death hid himself in. Death was shocked to find the dragoness he left behind all those years ago standing before him, glowing like the jewel he always saw her as.

But what shocked him even more was the beautiful black dragon standing next to Sky with rumbling blue eyes, smiling at him.

"I'm Firelight... It's nice to finally meet you... Father."
