His name was Kibou...

Moonwatcher looked up at the stars, her silver eyes lost within their trance. She felt her soul writhe and cry as she thought back to the bright futures that could have been. She could do nothing to stop the tears that began to pool in her eyes, nor her now shaking breath that rattled from her clenched throat.

"There was once an egg," she manged to choke out softly. "An egg that never managed to see the light of day. I saw the future of the little drake inside; it was bright and wondrous and beautiful. This egg held what would have been a handsome hybrid of NightWing and SandWing genes. A hybrid with so much potential..." Moonwatcher paused, blinking her eyes rapidly, trying to swallow down the pain. "He was going to be a wise scholar, terribly wise for his age. He was going to see the world and meet a beautiful dragoness- a princess, none the less. Their dragonets we're going to be beautiful."

Moonwatcher's wings curled tightly around her shivering form. "The egg that held this drake was lost within the womb. Miscarried. He was going to have a wonderful life ahead of him. I could see it so vividly. But the world is cruel and cold and unforgiving... Who's egg was this, you may ask? Well, that is a story for another time. But he would've been so dear to me..."

Moonwatcher closed her eyes, letting out a sigh of sorrow. She clutched her midsection forlornly, as if a ghost had passed through her, before looking towards the form next to her with pained silver orbs. "His name was Kibou..."



Kibou was going to be a great king, if he had lived. He would've been known as "The king of Wonder". He was going to read every scroll ever written and discover everything about Pyrrhia. He was going to make his parents proud...

But alas, the world had different plans, and he never saw the light of day...

Whose dragonet he was, we may never know...



Kibou means "hope" in Japanese
